Decoda asks for your birth date, time and place because a chart cannot be calculated without them. This page says plainly where those details go, who else sees them, and how to have them deleted.
The short version. Your birth details are used to calculate your chart and write your portrait. Nothing else. They are not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train anything. Ask us to delete them and we delete them.
Only what you type into one of the two forms.
| Form | What it collects |
|---|---|
| The Glimpse /glimpse |
A name, your birth date, birth time and birth city, and, only if you choose to give it, your sex at birth. That one is used for a single calculation: the direction of your BaZi ten year luck pillars. No email address is asked for or sent. |
| The three year check on /glimpse |
If you answer it, your three answers (matches, partly, does not) and which house each year fell in. Not your name, not your birth details. This is how we find out whether the calculations hold up. |
| Your portrait Gumroad checkout, and /portrait for corrections |
Your name, email address, birth date, birth time and birth city. Optionally, your sex at birth, and a few moments from your life with the year they happened. Those moments are the most personal thing you can send us: they are read by one person, used for your portrait only, and deleted on the same 90 day schedule as everything else. |
We do not ask for your address, phone number or identity documents. Payment is handled entirely by Gumroad: we never see or store your card details.
Decoda is run by one person, not a company with departments. Making it work still means a handful of services touch your data in passing. Here is the whole list.
| Service | What it receives, and why |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website. Also provides visit counts, which are aggregate and cookieless: it does not identify you and never receives anything you typed. |
| Render | Runs the calculation service behind the Glimpse. It receives the name, date, time and city you entered, and your sex at birth if you gave it, computes the chart, and returns the reading. It writes none of it to a database. Like any host, it keeps short-lived operational logs. For a portrait request it also holds your details and the finished PDF on its disk until the portrait is sent, and never longer than 90 days. |
| Gumroad | Runs the checkout for the full portrait. It receives your payment details, your email address and the birth details you enter at checkout, and passes the email address and birth details to us so your portrait can be made. Gumroad processes payment under its own privacy policy. |
| Anthropic | For a portrait request only: receives your computed chart, first name and any life moments you wrote, and drafts the portrait text, which a person then reviews before it is sent. Your email address is not sent. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data is not used to train their models. |
| Resend | Sends the finished portrait to your email address. It receives your email address, your name and the PDF. |
| Open-Meteo | Turns a city name into coordinates so the chart can be calculated for the right place on Earth. It receives the city name only, never your name, date or time. |
| FormSubmit | Carries the portrait correction form to our inbox, and the three year check answers if you give them. It receives what those collect, and nothing else. |
| Hosts the inbox those portrait requests arrive in, and where your replies go. |
No one else. There are no advertising pixels, no tracking scripts, no data brokers and no affiliate tags on this site.
Glimpse details are not stored: the calculation happens and the result is returned to your browser. Reload the page and it is gone.
Portrait requests sit in our inbox until your portrait is written and sent, then for up to 90 days in case you write back about it. After that they are deleted. If you would rather they went sooner, say so and they go immediately.
Email trydecoda@gmail.com from the address you used, or tell us the name you gave. We delete the request and reply to confirm. You do not have to give a reason, and asking does not affect your portrait or your refund.
The image you can download from the Glimpse is made inside your own browser and never passes through us. It shows ages only: no birth date, no birth time, no place, no calendar years. It is built that way so posting it in public cannot give your birth data away.
This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Decoda is written for adults and is not intended for anyone under 16. If a child has sent us birth details, email us and we will delete them.
A portrait is a language for reflection, not a forecast, and not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Nothing in it is a diagnosis or a prediction. You decide what is true.
If this page changes in a way that affects what happens to your details, the date below changes with it.
